Today I’d like to share information about Samsung Electronics’ yearly & quarterly Financial performance(Revenue & Operating profit)
Recently Samsung electronics announced its revenue and operating profits of the second quarter of 2017.
Samsung electronics said,
- Consolidated Sales : Approximately 60 trillion Korean won
- Consolidated Operating Profit : Approximately 14.0 trillion Korean won
Samsung said Samsung electronics’ revenues had increased by 17.7pc to around 60 trillion won in the second quarter and operating profits were up 72pc from 8.1 trillion won a year ago.
1. For the first time, Samsung’s operating profit surpassed Apple’s operating profit.
We thinks Samsung electronics’ operating profits are set to surpass its rival Apple for the first time in samsung history.
And this wonderful operating profit would make samsung electronics the world’s most profitable company(excluding financial company).

2. Samsung sales achieve new record.
In the second quarter of 2017, Samsung electronics’ revenue hit a record 60 trillion Korean won.
The figure is surpass 59 trillion won in the fourth quarter of 2013.

3. Samsung Electronics’ yearly Revenue trend
The graph below shows Samsung Electronics’ yearly Revenue from 1993 to 2016 for 24 years trend.
Samsung grew rapidly until 2013. However, it is decreasing or stagnating from 2014.
We are all paying attention to whether Samsung electronics’ sales will increase in 2017. Annual sales are expected to rise because of a large increase in the second quarter of 2017.

4. Samsung Electronics’ yearly Operating Income trend
The graph below shows operating profit from 1993 to 2016 for 24 years trend.
Samsung’s operating profit has been on the rise since 2008.
However, it is recovering after a slight decline in 2014.
