라일락 & Deep Purple 의 April

서울 본관 옆에 라일락이 피었다…

잊고 있었는데 오늘 보니 본관 주위에 제법 많은 라일락이 있어 그 진한 향기가 진동하고 있었다…
진동하고 있다는 표현이 어울리는….

Eliot의 작품에 영감을 받아 작곡된 Deep Purple 의 April ,,..

April is a cruel time

As i look up to the grey sky

4월은 잔인한 계절
심지어 햇빛마저 비추게 된다면
이 세상은 서서히
그림자 속으로 잠기게 되버리겠지
아직도 4월의 비가 내리네
온 마을이 고통으로 가득차게 되면
당신은 내게 도대체 왜 그런지를 물어보지
내가 회색빛 하늘을 올려다볼 때마다

Where it should be blue
Grey sky where I should see you
Ask why, why it should be so
I’ll cry, say that I don’t know

회색빛 하늘이 어디서부터 파래야 하는지를
회색빛 하늘으 어디서부터 볼 수 있는지
왜,왜 그래야만 되냐고 물어보지만
모르겠다라고 울면서 말할거야

Maybe on-ce in a while I’ll forget and I’ll smile
But then the feeling comes again
of an April without end
Of an April lonely as they come
In the dark of my mind I can see all too fine
But there is nothing to be done

아마도 가끔식은 모든걸 잊고 미소를 머금겠지
하지만 그 땐 끝이 없는 4월의 느낌이 다시 되살아나지
다가오는 외로운 4월의 느낌이 말야
어두운 나의 마음 속에서난 모든게 아름답게 보여
그러나 내가 그저 태양빛을 느낄 수 없을 땐
아무것도 이뤄논 것이 없겠지
그러므로 봄의 계절이란
어둠의 계절이라는 거야
